CHALK TALK WITH PASTOR CHAD HAMMONTREE:

In this Men's University breakout session we will be talking all about football. Looking at the intricacies that go into every play. Why do some plays work and others don't? What was that coach thinking? How can we tell the difference between cover 2 and cover 4? We will be looking different schemes that teams us to be successful on the field.

Pastor Chad played college football and has been a High school varsity football coach for 6 years. 2 years in MO where he coached and helped develop 3, D1 offensive lineman. The last 4 years have been here in North Dakota. Currently he serves as the  Offensive Line coach and Offensive analyst at Shiloh Christian school. Their record over the last four season was 31-11.

Come chalk talk with Pastor Chad!!

Where did you get that Bible? …and more

This class is all about answering questions about the Bible.  Where did we get the Bible?  Who decided the books?  What is the difference between our Bible and the Hebrew or Catholic Bible?  What are the Dead Sea scrolls?  Apocrypha? Septuagint?  What is the difference between all the translations?  What happens in the 400 years between the Old & New Testament?  What is Hanukkah about?   Why does my pastor always reference the Greek?  Where do babies come from?

All but one of these questions will be answered in this class.  Hope to see you there!

Navigating the Gender Crisis

Young people today find themselves caught in the middle of a war.  A war about them, on their behalf, but one they never asked for.  The battle rages fiercely on the political front.  Recently California, enacted a law that threatened jail time for healthcare workers who refuse to use patients' requested gender pronouns. New York adopted a similar law, which applied to employers, landlords, and business owners.  And there continues to be a massive increase in these types of bills presented across the country.  To combat the onslaught, state legislators have recently proposed 69 new bills to restrict gender affirming treatment, 14 new bathroom bills, 50 school restrictions, 15 ‘Stop the Sexualization of Children Acts’, and 130 sports bans.  The political clash is the visible representation of the deeper spiritual attack against a generation.  It is truly a spiritual battle, waged against the most vulnerable to perpetuate mental health disorders, destroy fertility, devastate the family, and polarize and paganize a culture.
Sexual identity is not a social construct, but it is an intentional and purpose filled decision of our creator, complexly expressed through the intricacies of our bodies.
How do we as Christians and messengers of the Gospel, give young people the opportunity to see the stamp of their Creator specifically in regards to their gender identity?

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. So that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.”Romans 12:2
